Thank you as always, Java Jungle

Thanks for being my favorite Reno open mic (aside from Waterfall, that happens every Sunday at 8pm!!!). It’s awesome to know I will always awkwardly fit among Reno’s talented poets and musicians. They’ve always been very welcoming and I’m incredibly thankful for that.

I got my start there, and I still enjoy performing at Java Jungle every time.

This Sunday at 8pm we’ll be starting an Open Mic Comedy night at Waterfall in Downtown Reno. I’m incredibly excited because the format will be open to anyone trying to be funny. I’m inviting people to not only do stand up, but to do sketches, funny songs, spoken word, dumb stories, poems or whatever funny thing you can do that doesn’t take more than 5-8 minutes. This week I’ll be telling news jokes with some visual aids! (Comic strips…not acquired immunodeficiency syndromes that we can see). Waterfall will be having drink specials, and they have an incredibly large variety of drinks on tap, so I’m sure you’ll enjoy that if you’re a drinker. They’ll also be having their awesome hookahs available! Please let anyone you know who may be interested in doing the open mic. Tell them to show up or email alyssa@alyssapants.com to get a spot! Also, we’ll be taking suggestions for future theme nights, so feel free to make theme suggestions or give them to me at the open mic! Oh, and here’s the flier…Pass it on!
